He was a machinist and formerly employed by Hutchinson Bag Corp. He was a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship Church, Hutchinson. On October 25, 2003, he married Joy Aultman. She survives.

Other survivors include 2 daughters, Kimberly Aden and Kandace Aden, both of Hutchinson, 2 brothers, Bob Adams, Pineville, MO and Don Adams, Larned, KS, 3 sisters, Bonnie Pressnall, Littleton, Co, Virginia Kastleman, Hutchinson, and Carol Dannels, Hutchinson, and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Vern Adams, Jr. and Gene Adams.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, with Pastor Cora Stokely, presiding. Burial will follow at the Sterling Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM until service time on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis Adams Memorial Fund at First Bank in Sterling, in care of the funeral home.

She graduated from Buhler High School in 1984 and from Sidney’s Hairdressing College. She worked for Sunflower Diversified Service as an employment facilitator, taught riding lessons, and was a dog groomer. Amy was a member of Kansas Open Barrel Race Association, Reno County Quarter Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Kansas Quarter Horse Association, Stafford County Horse Project and judged 4-H shows and open shows. Amy held many awards such as: the Sho Nuf McCue (Turkey) AJQHA Champion 1979, AJQHA Youth Supreme 1980, 35 AJQHA All-Arounds-Top 10 1980, fifth in Reining and sixth in Western Riding, Kansas Horse of the Year 1979 and 1980, KJQHA All-Around 13 and Under Youth 1980, Reserve High Point Youth Quarter Horse Congress, Columbus Ohio, AJQHA Youth World held in Oklahoma, top 10 in Horsemanship, Western Riding and Barrel Racing.

Amy is survived by: her daughter, Kayla Temple of Olmitz; father, Dr. Roy C. Russell and wife Susan of Hutchinson; mother, Karen Russell of Hutchinson; companion, Brian Davis of St. John; brother, Burke Russell and wife Dini of Florida; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by: grandparents, John W. and Bernadine Russell and Damon H. and Vivian D. McFadden.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, with Pastor John Paul and Reverend Warren Hett officiating. Burial will follow in Sterling Community Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Betty Carol Colle Garey passed away on June 5, 2014, at her home in Hutchinson. Betty Carol was born on July 24, 1921, in Saxman, Kan., to her parents, Anton “Tony” and Mabel Vera Pallister Colle.

 She graduated from Lyons High School in 1939, and from Venus Beauty School in Wichita in 1940. She owned her own beauty shop in Sterling. Betty Carol married the love of her life, Leonard Ree Garey on April 25, 1942. They lived a full life together and celebrated 72 wedding anniversaries together. During their life together, Betty lived in or visited 49 of the United States and she lived in or visited 20 foreign countries. They had two children, Keith Dean and Marilyn Carol. Betty Carol was a member of the CrossPoint Church, Westbrook Campus and she belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.

Betty Carol was preceded in death by: her parents, Tony and Mabel Colle; two brothers, Keith and Wayne Colle; son-in-law, Robert Dee Stange. Survivors include: husband, Leonard Ree Garey of the home; son, Keith Dean Garey and wife Sharon Lynn Stafford Garey of Sterling; daughter, Marilyn Carol Garey Volin and her husband James Milton Volin of Overland Park; two grandchildren, Curt Dean Garey of New York and Kimberly Lynn Trujillo and husband Ed Trujillo of Hutchinson; two brothers, Gene Colle of Hutchinson and Loren Colle of Sterling; two sisters, Venetta Arganbright of Nebraska and Joyce Munson of California. Betty Carol was a Christian woman who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a devoted Christian daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who is with her Lord this day.

Ronald Veere Mosier, 86, passed away on May 6, 2014, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. Ronald was born July 23, 1927, in rural Sterling, the son of John Jerome and Mabel (Zimmerman) Mosier.
He graduated from Sterling High School in 1944. On Sept. 1, 1949, he married the love of his life, Ann Marie Adam. To them were born two daughters, Linda Kay Lippelmann and Beverly Ann Lagana. Ronald was a retired farmer and stockman. In early years, he had worked part-time at Cessna Corporation and the Pratt Livestock Commission. Ronald attended the Sterling Evangelical Bible Church for 85 years and the Journey Church in South Hutchinson, for a short time. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in the winter of 1952. He loved these quotes from Will Rogers: “Let me live in a house by the side of the road and be a friend to man,” and “I never met a man I didn’t like.”
Survivors include: his wife, Ann of the home; daughters, Linda (Roger) Lippelmann of Lyons, Beverly (Gary) Lagana of Ellwood, Pa.; grandchildren, Jackie (Kevin) Conti of Monaca, Pa., Mike Lagana of Aliquippa, Pa., Brooklyn (Nathan) Walker of Hutchinson, Mark (Jaclyn) Lippelmann of Alexandria, Va.; great-grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Conti of Monaca, Pa., Katelyn, Titus and Silas Walker of Hutchinson. Funeral for Mary Ruth Graham, 92, Lawton will be at 4:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Mark Henslee, pastor officiating.
Mrs. Graham died Friday, March 28, 2014 in Lawton.
She will be buried beside her husband Charles R. Graham at Sterling Cemetery in Sterling, Kansas under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
She was born in Hillsville, Virginia on May 1, 1921, and reared on a farm with her parents, Mr. John Cleveland and Mrs. Sarah Lee Redd and her two brothers and three sisters. She married Charles R. Graham on June 19, 1943. He died March 15, 1985. She attended a Southern Presbyterian Church and was active in the Sunday School and youth programs.
Mrs. Graham graduated from Hillsville High School and received an Associate degree from Carroll County Business College in Hillsville, Virginia, an Associate of Arts degree from Montreat College, Montreat, North Carolina, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sterling College, Sterling, Kansas and a Master of Education degree from California University of Pennsylvania, California, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Graham taught at Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio and for a total of thirty years in public schools in Penalosa, Kansas, Hillsville, Virginia, Chicago, Illinois and Washington, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Graham was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Washington, Pennsylvania since her husband became pastor in 1955. She was active in the missionary societies and was president of the Women’s Federation for ten years. She served the Washington Presbytery as enabler and auditor. For many years she was sponsor of the local youth program and was leader of the Junior Church. She taught Sunday School classes for children and adults, was secretary of the Board of Trustees, secretary of the Corporation and treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society. She volunteered as secretary of the church and was responsible for the monthly newsletter. She represented the church on the board of the Community Circle Food Pantry, the City Mission Auxiliary and was active in Church Women United.
Mrs. Graham is survived by three sons, John L. Graham, Charles R. Graham and George E. Graham as well as four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Dorothea Mae Fountain, 84, Sterling, KS, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2014. She died peacefully at home. She was born July 23, 1929 to Willis and Ethel Tippin Edgar in Sterling, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents 38 years to the day that her Father went to be with the Lord. On June 7, 1950 she married Emery Dean Fountain in Sterling, Ks. She is survived by her husband, E. Dean Fountain of the home, brother Robert Edgar, Tucson, AZ, four children: Doug (Terry) Fountain, Castle Rock, CO, Debby (Greg) Ek, Wichita, KS, Deanne (Kevin) Nowlan, Sterling, and Dawn Fountain of Wichita, and 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Kelly (Amanda) Fountain, Kaden, Kailey and Aidan, of Hutchinson, Brook (Sam) Williams, Conan and Maximus, Littleton, CO, Andrew (McKenzie) Ek, Greyson and Landen, Andover, Allie (Nick) Kerr and Madelyn Wichita, Spencer Nowlan, Lawrence, Paige (Vance) Stegman , Great Bend and Cole Slupski of Sterling and Alexis Slupski of Wichita.
Dottie was a graduate of Sterling College and received her Master’s Degree from Emporia State University. She taught school for 37 years. Her first job was teaching Music at Obee School in Hutchinson, KS at age 19. She moved and taught lower Elementary in Lebanon, KS. She finished her teaching career in Sterling, KS where she was the Librarian, Jr. High English/Reading Teacher and Cheerleading Sponsor. She accompanied for the elementary music programs for many years. Dorothea was a member of Sterling Reformed Presbyterian Church, Women’s Missionary Society, Sterling Sorosis, Rice County Retired Teachers, Lifetime member of KNEA and NEA and spent her spare time singing in the Coronado Country Chorus of Sweet Adelines. Dorothea was happiest while attending all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s music programs and sporting events. She even traveled to Switzerland with the Kansas State Choir. She loved traveling with Dean all around the country in their 5th wheel and spending the cold winters in Texas and Arizona. She was a beautiful seamstress, enjoyed quilting and had a passionate love for reading. Dottie read over 100 books just this past year. She made it a point to read the bible from cover to cover each year as well. She touched many with her amazing faith and beautiful spirit. Her greatest love was her family and her Lord and Savior.

A lifetime Sterling resident, Luella was a 1939 Sterling High School graduate, a homemaker and a sales person for the former J.C. Penney Store in Sterling. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church and Grace Rebekah Lodge of Sterling. On May 20, 1944, she married John Harold Forwalder in Sterling, Kan. He died Feb. 13, 1989. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Sterling Community Cemetery, with Pastor Kendal Connor officiating.Family links:

STERLING – Betty A. Elrod, 82, died Dec. 31, 2013, at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson. She was born May 11, 1931, in Jane Lew, W. Va., the daughter of Hayward and Marjorie Lodge Westfall. A resident of Sterling since 1990, formerly of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., she was a retired cook for Sterling Presbyterian Manor. She was a member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Sterling. On April 3, 1978, she married Warner Elrod at Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. He died Dec. 26, 1986. Survivors include: two sons, Glenn Rogge and wife Marla, Sterling, and Bradley Rogge and wife Marilyn, Riverton; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jennifer Albrecht; brother, Donald Westfall; two grandsons, David Albrecht and Steven Rogge; and a nephew, Robert Westfall. Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. Dale Jordon presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling. Memorials may be made to Sterling Presbyterian Manor, in care of the funeral home.

He died June 30, 1966. Survivors include: two sons, John W. Brown ( Sandra) of Rancho CuCamonga, Calif., and Lawrence E. Brown of Newton; four daughters, Cecelia A. Young of Lyons, Patricia E.
