When Ammi A. Phillips was born on April 24, 1848, in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania, his father, Daniel, was 38 and his mother, Julia, was 35. He had ten siblings. He married Mary Elizabeth(Falconer) in April 1873 in Sugar Grove.  He died on September 2, 1874, at the age of 26, and was buried in Busti Cemetery, Busti, Chautauqua, New York.

Mary ‘Min’  Snowden was a musician and played the organ in all the churches Rev. Dr. Snowden served.  She was baptized Aug. 9, 1851, in the Presbyterian Church, Lottsville, Warren, PA.  She received her Ph.D. from Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Arkansas in 1892.

Mim had rheumatism and also suffered from asthma.
