He removed to Gray county, Kansas, where he held his residence at the time of his death. The deceased had come to his old neighborhood where he expected to operate a threshing outfit this season arriving at the home of J. E. Ed, as he was known, was held in high esteem by his many friends in his western home and also at his old home. He leaves to mourn his loss, one brother Overton Hickman, and two sisters, Mrs. M. A. Chappell, and Mrs. F. S. Humiston, all of Hutchinson. The funeral services were held at the home of J. E. Connor in Medford township, Reno Co., Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m. The services were conducted by Rev. W. L. Hinshaw of Burrton, assisted by Rev. L. E. Fahrney. Burial Date: 1970,  01/08             Age: 15              Lot: 967 B

Obituary from Lyons Daily News

Thomas Brent Henry, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Joe Henry, died Sunday afternoon at Sterling Community Hospital of injuries received a short time earlier in a one-car accident on a country road six miles east and three north of Sterling.
Brent was a passenger in a car driven by Randy Jean Detter, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Detter. According to Rice County officers the car, headed west, struct the north railing of a small cement bridge immediately west of the Galord Johnson farm. The boys had been driving the area, looking for a hubcap that had been lost the previous day.
Mrs. Johnson said she heard the crash and then Randy came to the house for help. The Porter Sillin Ambulance was called. The boys were brought to the local hospital where Brent succumbed about 20 minutes later. Detter was treated for a fractured nose and shock. He was much improved Wednesday and will be released in a few days, the hospital reported Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson said Monday that he and his son, Terry, ran to the car and found Brent pinned in the wreckage. The were able to free the boy by the time the ambulance arrived.
Sheriff Dee Doughty said the boys had just left the Paul Sheufler farm nearby and that the crash occurred about 3:05 p.m. There were no skid marks to indicate that the driver lost control before collision, Doughty reported. Tire marks indicated the car had veered gradually toward the bridge as it passed the Johnson farmstead, about 225 feet east of the small, dry creek.
Impact ripped away the right side of the car.
The car, a 1964 Chrysler, was said to be demolished. The right front fender and headlight struck the railing of the bridge and the car was thrown crosswise of the road. Both boys remained in the car.
Brent as born in Sterling on May 14, 1954, and had lived here his entire life. He was a sophomore at Sterling High School where he participated in football and tennis and was a member of the Kays. He was also active in MYE.
Survivors include the parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henry, Sterling; brother, Randy, of the home; sister, Jennifer Jo, of the home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Helen Henry, Sterling; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Fulton, Sterling.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Sterling United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Chastain officiating. Burial was made in the Sterling Cemetery.
The high school was dismissed for the service and many students attended in a body.
Casket bearers were school friends: Steve Vincent, Brian Lawrence, Kenton Kimball, Tim Hayes, Mike Bell and Jim Neal.
