She was a lifetime Sterling resident. For 46 years she worked for the Farmers Co-op Union in Sterling. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1961 and Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. Survivors include: sisters, Linda McNutt of Sterling, Teri Eskandari of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carole Bengston of Inman, Kan.; brother, Earl McNutt of Sterling; seven nieces and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Larry, Ralph Jr., Jerry, Russell and Tom McNutt. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with Reverend Robert Friesen officiating. Burial at Sterling Community Cemetery. A Wichita resident since 2009, formerly of Sterling, he graduated from Sterling High School in 1947, was a retired President and Superintendent for Sterling Drilling Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War. Memberships included: United Methodist Church, Rotary Club and was Past President of American Legion, all of Sterling. He married Margaret “Beth” Terrill Oct. 30, 1955, in Sterling, Colo. She died March 31, 2012. Survivors include: three sons, Tom and Gayla Mead of Wichita, Randy and Sherrie Mead of Dubois, Idaho, and Chuck and Elizabeth Mead of Peabody; a daughter, Dixie Mead of Billings, Mont.; a sister, Betty Taylor; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roy and Harry Mead. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at the Sterling United Methodist Church, with Reverend Marvin Ewertt officiating.
