Robert A. Don Carlos, a resident of Sterling since 1948, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, at the age of 82.
He was born Aug. 11, 1916, at Wann, OK, the son of Frank and Luella Hephner Don Carlos. He was a roughneck for Sterling Drilling Co. and a carpenter for Detroiter Mobile Homes. He was a World War II U.S. Amy veteran.
On Oct. 11, 1941, he married Phyllis Wurst at Nickerson.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Josephine Irwin, Bartlesville, OK and Javine Morris, Alexandria, VA.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling with the Rev. Glen Holman officiating. Burial was in the Sterling Community Cemetery.

HOLYROOD – Mrs. Myrtle I. Zerbe Dodson, 62, Holyrood, died Sunday at Ellsworth Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born March 28, 1908, at Sterling, she was married to Cecil Dodson Oct. 28, 1965, at Marysville. She had moved here from Lyons in 1965.
She was a member of the Methodist Church; VFW Auxiliary, Lyons.
Survivors include the widower; daughter; Jackie Johnson, Dallas, Tex.; son: Ralph Nordstrom, St. Joseph, Mo.; stepson: Dennis, Dallas, Tex.; sister: Mrs. Mary Park, Sterling.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Porter and Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling; Rev. Phil Chastain. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

LYONS – Cecil E. Nordstrom, 74, died Tuesday at Mesquite, Texas. Born Nov. 23, 1904, at Lyons, he married Myrtle Zerbe Oct. 30, 1926, at Hutchinson. She preceded him in death. He was a retired shoe shop repairman.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, Lyons.

She belonged to United Methodist Church at Sterling.
On Jan. 23, 1943, she married Chester Dobyns at Sauna He died Sept. 2, 1981.
Survivors include two sisters, Doris Nichols, Grants Pass, Ore., and Achsah Fly, Conroe, Texas; several nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sterling Community Cemetery, with the Rev. James Graves, presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling.
