* Death came to Mrs Mary Alma Prall at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs W C Jones, 700 N Wood Caney Ks., Mrs Prall was 94 years old and had lived here 59 years She was the daughter of Hiram and Sally Ann Scott and was born 26 Mar 1871 in Versallies, Ky. The family moves to Sterling Ks., when she was five years of age. She moves to Caney in 1907. On 27 March 1890 she was married to James L Drake, at Sterling, Kansas, he died 7 Nov 1905. She married Marion J Prall at Hutchinson on 7 Oct 1907 and he died 19 Jan 1945. Mrs Prall is survived by five daughters, and had made her home with them since 1949 when she received a broken hip in a fall. Her daughters, Mrs W C (Della)Jones, Mrs M S (Pearl) Sullivan and Mrs Frank (Marion) Ikerd all of Caney, Mrs Mabel Henderson and Mrs Ralph (Ruby) Ambler both of Kansas City, Mo., another daughter, Ethel died 15 Dec 1905 at the age of 14 years.

The funeral of Miss Ella Drake took place at 11:00 o’clock this morning from the Christian Church, Elder Kendrick preaching the sermon. The remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.

STERLING – Edward F. Drake, 83, of RFD 3, Sterling, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday at the Sterling Community Hospital after a three-week illness. He was born Oct. 16, 1885, in Eaton, Ohio. He married Anna B. Royer May 15, 1906, at Sterling. He came to Sterling from Tennessee in 1893 and was a retired farmer. His wife died March 28, 1950. He had been a member of the Reno County High School Board.Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Groth, RFD 3, Sterling; three sons, Vernon Drake, RFD 3; John E. Drake, San Antonio, and Norliss Drake, 1703 Westbrook Dr., Hutchinson; brothers, Chester, RFD 1, and Homer, Sterling; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Porter and Sillin Funeral Home; Rev. Arlyn Conard. Burial, Sterling Community Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday.
