Obituary for Jennie R. (Reed) Sanders.
Sterling – Jennie Rebecca Sanders, 81, died Tuesday at Sterling Community Hospital where she had been a patient for seven days.
She was born in Burlington February 29, 1880, and was married to V. L. Sanders there September 17, 1903. They lived in Hutchinson until 1924 when they moved to Great Bend, where Mr. Sanders was an agent for The News. They moved here in 1934. Mrs. Sanders was a musician and Sunday School teacher in the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by the widower, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Laverne Brownlee, Lawrence; a sister, Mrs. N.B. Mahuron, Liberal, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Sterling Methodist church, Rev. Paul Mundell officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Community Cemetery.

Helen Mae Skinner was born on April 29, 1844, in Portland, New York, her father, Albert, was 27, and her mother, Matilda, was 22. She married Amariah Chandler Russ on November 13, 1866, in New York. They had five children in 16 years. She died in 1918 at the age of 74, and was buried in Sterling, Kansas.
Emma Marie Geere was born in May 1869 in Illinois, her father, William, was 41, and her mother, Rowena, was 36. She married Albert Chandler Russ in 1893. They had eight children in 28 years. She died in 1947 in Kansas at the age of 78.
