Sterling – Hadley L. Wilkey, 58, died July 11, 2002, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born April 19, 1944, at Sterling, the son of Louis H. and Mary Jane McKissick Wilkey. A lifetime Sterling resident, he was a cattle buyer.

He belonged to the United Presbyterian Church, Sterling.

He was a veteran of the Kansas Air National Guard.

On Oct. 21, 1967, he married Dawn Leonard at McPherson. She survives.

Other survivors include: his father and stepmother, Louis and Sara Maren Olson Wilkey, a daughter, two brothers, John and Edgar L., both of Sterling and a sister, Minneapolis.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Presbyterian Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Glen Holman presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Rice and Reno County, or the Fourth of July Fund, Sterling, both in care of the funeral home.

Frances Wilkey, 86, died July 12, 2000, at Lyons District Hospital.  She was born Dec. 28, 1912, in Rice County, the daughter of Wesley and Jennie Miller Williams. A lifetime resident of Rice County, she was the former owner of Wilkey Livestock Sales of Pratt, Lyons, Hutchinson, and Kinsley.

She belonged to Sterling United Presbyterian Church, the Sterling Hospital Board, the Order of Eastern Star and the Sterling Presbyterian Manor Board.

On Oct. 12, 1935, she married Russell Wilkey at Winchester. He died Jan. 29, 1999. Survivors include a son, Bob, Pratt; a daughter, Karen Cundith, Sterling; a brother Robert Williams, Seattle; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Sterling United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Glen Holman presiding. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery.
