Mary Ann was the daughter of Elizabeth Warren Jaynes and James Jaynes. She may have been born in 1852. The dates on her headstone are wrong. On her marriage license, she spelled her maiden name Janes. It was Jaynes. She could not read or write. Mrs. N. (Nicholas) Yeager died at her home in this city yesterday after a long and painful illness, leaving a husband and six children to mourn her loss. She was buried this morning. Published 29 Mar 1888 in Sterling Bulletin, Sterling, Rice County, Kansas.
