Margaret (“Maggie”) was the fifth child and second daughter to Francis Moore and Mary Jane Adair.  She apparently was the namesake of her paternal grandmother, Margaret Dunn, and possibly her father’s sister, Eliza J. Moore.  There is no record that she had higher education, but she was teacher in a one-room school in Randolph County when she met her future husband, Robert Finley Wilson.  They two were married at Margaret’s home in Sparta and moved to Robert Wilson’s farm near Briscoe, Lincoln County, Missouri.  There she gave birth to four children, Beulah Marie Wilson, Harold Stewart Wilson, Helen Marietta Wilson, and Pearl Moore Wilson.  In August 1919 the farm was sold to Robert’s cousin, and the family moved to Sterling, Rice County, KS, where they bought a house from Margaret’s relative, William Adair.  Margaret worked as practical nurse, and as a cook at Sterling College, where her children became students.  After Robert died in December, 1939, Margaret lived for a while in Santa Ana, CA and served as caregiver to her husband’s relative, Emma McBride.  She also sewed clothes for the child movie star, Shirley Temple.  After a heart attack, she moved to Washington State and lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Pearl Moore Wilson and Samuel Crawford.  After several years, she moved again to live at Torrington, Goshen County, WY with her daughter and son-in-law, Helen Marietta Wilson and Hugh Byron Hudelson.  She suffered several heart attacks and strokes, the last one a few days before 31 Jan 1954.  Her grandson remembers that she was determined to die on a Sunday, and lived by force of will for four days until that day.  She is buried at Sterling, KS, beside her husband and her eldest daughter, Beulah Marie Wilson.
