Mother of Suzanne Whittingham Stephenson

Marilyn Whittingham, 69, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at her home in Sterling. She was born July 25, 1935, at Santa Monica, Calif., the daughter of George and Lois Watts Hackett. A resident of Sterling since March 2003, formerly of Stanton, Calif., she was a retired secretary for the Police Department of Anaheim, Calif.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

She married Thomas Whittingham at Oahu, Hawaii. He died in 1966. Survivors include a son, Robert Whittingham, Sterling; three daughters, Sandra Farley and Suzanne Stephenson, both of Sterling, and Julie Agapinan, Brea, Calif; two brothers, Howard Hackett, Culver City, Calf., and Roger Hackett, Diamond Springs, Calif; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Sterling Community Cemetery, with Pastor Michael Brockman officiating.
