Stephen Thompson, a resident of West Washington township, died in St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Hutchinson, Saturday, February 17, from injuries received in an automobile accident Thursday night. Stephenhad never married and lived on his farm in West Washington township.
Accompanied by his brother, Clarence Thompson, of Lima, Ohio, Mr. Thompson was returning from Hutchinson, about 9:00 o’clock Thursday night, when their car struck a culvert and went into the ditch. Evidently, they were traveling pretty fast, as large blocks of cement were torn from the culvert by the impact of the car.
Steve Thompson suffered a fractured breast bone, a broken leg, head injuries and was probably internally injured. He was taken to the hospital in Hutchinson, where he passed away last Saturday. His brother escaped with a bad cut on his chin, and other cuts and bruises.
Mr. Thompson is a brother of Mrs. Anna Hannankratt, and his death is the fourth in her immediate family since July 14, 1933. He was aged 77 years, 10 months and 6 days. He
