Debra Marie Thomas, 49, Sterling, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital. She was born Oct. 8, 1956, in Eureka, the daughter of Robert H. ‘Tig’ and Dorline Gray Teegardin. She graduated in 1975 from Eureka High School and Butler County Community College. A resident of Sterling, formerly of Eureka and Ashland, she was a homemaker and worked as a registered nurse for Hospice of Reno County.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Preceptor Delta Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Sterling, Christ Lutheran Church, Eureka, the Midian Shrine Oriental Band-Aids and was a former Boy Scout leader.
On Aug. 13, 1998, she married Clay Thomas in Ashland.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Kurt R. and Joshua T., and a daughter, Sara D. Thomas, all of the home; her father, Robert “Tig’ Teegardin, Eureka; a brother Gary Teegardin, Dodge City; and a sister, Beverly Welsh, Eureka.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorline Teegardin.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Nancy Goddard officiating. Burial was in Sterling Community Cemetery.
