W. A. Taylor Dies

Former Sterling Man Died in Oklahoma City, Burial Here Today.

W. A. Taylor passed away at his home in Oklahoma City, Tuesday. The body will arrive in Sterling on No. 11 today, and funeral services will be held from the M.E. church at 1:30 this Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in the cemetery here, beside the wife who passed away several years ago.

The Taylors formerly lived on East Main street. Following the death of his wife, Mr. Taylor accompanied his daughter Myrtle, to Oklahoma City, where she is a teacher in the schools of that city, and where they made their home. Mr. Taylor was a Civil War veteran.

When William A. Taylor was born in October 1844 in Hartsville, New York, his father, William, was 31 and his mother, Martha, was 24. He married Malintha Ellen (Minnie) Hinds and they had six children together. He also had one son and two daughters from another relationship. He died on December 26, 1936, at the age of 91.
