Alpha J. Taylor, 80, of Hutchinson, passed away January 12, 2018 at Hospice House of Hutchinson. She was born July 4, 1937 in Urbana, Arkansas, the daughter of William “Hi” and Evelyn Mauk King. Alpha graduated from Nickerson High School. She has resided in Hutchinson since 1988, formerly of Sterling. Alpha was CNA, CMA, home health nurse for many years. Alpha loved spending time with her grandkids, garage sales, and reading. On December 24, 1959, Alpha was united in marriage with Donald Taylor in Nickerson, KS. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Marlon King. She is survived by her son, Brad and Kristi Taylor of Hutchinson; daughter, Barbie and Ryan Laymon of Lyons; five grandchildren, Nikolas and Alissa Laymon of Lyons, James and Jaymi Stacy of Council Bluff, IA, Daykota Taylor and Rick of Spivey, Straun Taylor and Cassidy of Hutchinson, Katrina Stacy and Cesar of Wichita; six great grandchildren, Rachel, Taylor, Bristol, Bo, Hunter, Kadrian, and Charli; two sisters, Helen Payton of Hutchinson, and Donna and Paul Combrick of Guthrie, OK. No services are planned. Burial will be at the Sterling Community Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Alpha J. Taylor Memorial fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
