– Douglas Wayne Stout, 37, died Aug. 12, 2006, at his home, Toledo, Ohio, following three years with ALS.He was born May 30, 1969, in Singapore, the son of Ronald and Fira Stout. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering. He worked for Bechtel Corp. in its Pipeline Division managing projects. He later worked for Welded Construction, Perrysburg, Ohio, as a senior project engineer. On Dec. 31, 1997, he married Cay Mateyko. She survives. Other survivors include: his grandmother, Anita Oden, Sterling; two children, Jackson and Jami; a sister, Kim Thoren; and two grandchildren.  Funeral will be Friday at Epworth United Methodist Church, Toledo, Ohio. Service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 23 at First United Methodist Church, Sterling. Burial will be in Sterling Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to ALS Association of Northern Ohio or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, both in care of Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling.
