James Franklin “Frank” Steinmetz was born on December 12, 1860, in Northampton, Pennsylvania, his father, Charles, was 25 and his mother, Catharine, was 21. He married Almira H “Allie” Levan in 1882 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. They had two children during their marriage. He died on January 5, 1918, in Sauvies Island, Oregon, at the age of 57, and was buried in Portland, Oregon.

Almira H “Allie” Levan was born on May 22, 1860, in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, her father, Thaddeus, was 30 and her mother, Catherine, was 39. She married James Franklin “Frank” Steinmetz in 1882 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. They had two children during their marriage. She died on September 6, 1931, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 71, and was buried there.
