Deborah Anne Simpson, beloved daughter of the late Andrew Lee Simpson Sr. and the late Julia Frances Simpson, peacefully passed away on January 29, 2024. She was born on June 15, 1945, in Hutchinson, Kansas, in the embrace of her loving family. Deborah’s life was one of selfless dedication to others. She was preceded in death by her dear brother, Gideon Doyle Simpson, but leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. Deborah is survived by her siblings: Andrew Lee Simpson Jr., Rebekah Wheaton, Olivia Burke (Simpson), Leon Burke and Jocelyn Simpson Furr. In addition to her siblings, Deborah leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews: Noel Burke, Angela Burke, Felicity Burke-Andrews, Malcolm Furr, Erica Glenn (Furr), and Daniel Glenn who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Throughout her life, Deborah was deeply involved in her community. She found joy and purpose in her involvement with Children’s Bible Hour, her dedicated service in helping those in need, and her unwavering commitment to volunteering at her church and the Cat Association of Topeka. Deborah’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire acts of love and service in the hearts of those she leaves behind. A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at St. Marks African Methodist Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cat Association of Topeka in Deborah’s honor. Deborah’s legacy of love, compassion, and service will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
