Hazel Belle Shumway, 97, formerly of Sterling, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at Christian Healthcare East Nursing Facility, Springfield, Mo.Survivors include a brother-in-law, George Neal Shumway, Alexandria, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Shumway, San Francisco, Calif.; and a grandson, Daniel Milton, Springfield.

Her husband, Robert Glenn Shumway, longtime Sterling dentist; a son, Milton Eugene Shumway; a daughter, Gwendolyn Gail Shumway; and a grandson, David Milton, preceded her in death. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 in the Sterling Community Cemetery.
