Morris had a confectionary store in Sterling.  He traveled with the Chase Candy Company of Saint Joseph for forty years.  He located in Sterling as it was the center of his territory and thus he could ‘make it home’ frequently. He bought the John H. Ricksecker home from its builder, at 4th and Main.
