Vanessa Lynn Paris, 67, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away May 22, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born June 7, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of John E. Sr. and Phyllis A. (Baldwin) Deist. Vanessa has resided in Sterling for the past twenty years, formerly of Hutchinson. She graduated from Sterling High School. Vanessa worked as a receptionist at AnswerLink of Kansas and Shears both of Hutchinson. She enjoyed gardening and most of all taking care of her great nieces and nephews. Vanessa is survived by her three sisters, Patricia Fenwick of Sterling, KS, Debra Cox and husband Randy of Talala, OK, and Kathy Deist of Sterling, KS; sister-in-law, Patty Deist of TX; and nephew, Tharin Deist of Norton, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Perry Deist, Donald D. Deist, and John E. Deist II; and brother-in-law, Loyd Fenwick. Graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling, with Pastor Dale Jordan officiating. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
