Sterling – Dorothy L. Neal, 87, died March 15, 2006, at Lyons District Hospital. She was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Sterling, the daughter of James R. and Nellie Holdread Buel. She was a 1936 graduate of Sterling High School A lifetime Sterling resident, she was a homemaker and bookkeeper. She belonged to United Methodist Church and Eastern Star, both at Sterling.
On July 2, 1938, she married Harold Neal in Sterling. He died Aug. 27, 2003. Survivors include a son, Jim Neal and wife Marcia, Newton; two daughters, Pat McClellan, Topeka and Jackie Krueger and husband, Duane, Sterling. 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild
She was preceded in death by three brothers, (her twin)Donald, Jim and Dwight Buel; and three sisters, Virginia Buel, Helen McMurphy and an infant sister. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Nancy Goddard and Pastor Tim Elsner presiding. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery.
