Birth: Dec. 16, 1927 Hutchinson Reno County Kansas, USA Death: Oct. 15, 2013 Sterling Rice County Kansas, USA STERLING – Patricia M. “Pat” Laudermilk, 85, died Oct. 15, 2013, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor. She was born Dec. 16, 1927, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Edward H. and Maxine Taylor Allen.A Sterling resident since 1949, she was a homemaker, mother and artist. Patricia graduated from Chase High School and attended Sterling College. Her memberships included: United Methodist Church of Sterling, American Legion Auxiliary, Rice County Arts Council, Founding Board Member of Studio 96, served on the Rice County Election Board, longtime Girl Scout leader, Main Street Sterling Committee Member and Beta Sigma Phi Advisor. On Feb. 27, 1948, she married Bernard “Tiny” Laudermilk in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 25, 1982. Survivors include: sons, Terry and Debbie Laudermilk of Wichita; Jeff Laudermilk of Sterling; daughter, Michelle “Miki” West and Gene Zaid of Sterling; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Edward Michael Allen.Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at United Methodist Church in Sterling, with the Revs. Marvin Ewertt and Glenn Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
