Howard Alexander ‘Allie’ Koblitz, a resident of Sterling since 1946, died yesterday, May 11, 1992, in the District Hospital. He was 65.
Born July 1, 1926, in Moscow, Kan. to Fred K. and Ethel Petersen Koblitz, he married Juanita L. Earle on November 16, 1951, in Sterling.
He was a service technician for Pepsi Cola of Great Bend and a retired carpet installer, a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion of Sterling.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Craig of Paola and Jeff of Abbyville; 10 sisters, Phoebe Loomis of Lamar, Colo., Ella Louise Franklin of St. John, Josephine Mahoney of Sterling, Hazel Hughes of Fairfax, Va., Leva Loyd of Schell City, Mo., Lou Forney of Lompoc, Calif., Velva Alder of Oceanside, Calif., and Phyllis Bradford, Joan Proffitt and Jean Manwarren of Sterling; and six grandchildren.
The Rev. James Graves will conduct a funeral of 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Porter and Sillin Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sterling Community Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the United Methodist Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
