Obituary from Lyons Daily News

Thomas Brent Henry, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Joe Henry, died Sunday afternoon at Sterling Community Hospital of injuries received a short time earlier in a one-car accident on a country road six miles east and three north of Sterling.
Brent was a passenger in a car driven by Randy Jean Detter, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Detter. According to Rice County officers the car, headed west, struct the north railing of a small cement bridge immediately west of the Galord Johnson farm. The boys had been driving the area, looking for a hubcap that had been lost the previous day.
Mrs. Johnson said she heard the crash and then Randy came to the house for help. The Porter Sillin Ambulance was called. The boys were brought to the local hospital where Brent succumbed about 20 minutes later. Detter was treated for a fractured nose and shock. He was much improved Wednesday and will be released in a few days, the hospital reported Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson said Monday that he and his son, Terry, ran to the car and found Brent pinned in the wreckage. The were able to free the boy by the time the ambulance arrived.
Sheriff Dee Doughty said the boys had just left the Paul Sheufler farm nearby and that the crash occurred about 3:05 p.m. There were no skid marks to indicate that the driver lost control before collision, Doughty reported. Tire marks indicated the car had veered gradually toward the bridge as it passed the Johnson farmstead, about 225 feet east of the small, dry creek.
Impact ripped away the right side of the car.
The car, a 1964 Chrysler, was said to be demolished. The right front fender and headlight struck the railing of the bridge and the car was thrown crosswise of the road. Both boys remained in the car.
