WICHITA – Jerold “Jerry” Wayne Haile, 52, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. Jerry grew up in Alden and Sterling, Kan., was an Eagle Scout, a 1980 graduate of Sterling High School,  graduated from Wichita State University, worked at GSI Engineering, and was passionate about his work and geology.

 He was a compassionate man with a huge heart who would do anything for his family and friends and brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. He is loved immensely and will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip. He is survived by his wife, Nellie; parents, Guy (Fuzz) and Bonnie (Morley) Haile of Sterling, Kan.; children, Ashley Tanner (Jedidiah) of San Angelo, Texas, Jeremiah (Kylie) of Sterling, Kan., Zechariah of Dallas, Texas, Erin (Gregory) of Wichita, Gracie of Wichita; granddaughter, Delanie Haile.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Downing and Lahey Mortuary East Chapel, Wichita. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Word of Life Church, North Campus, 3811 N. Meridian Ave, Wichita. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, in Sterling, Kan.
