Gwen Ione Garrigues, 101, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away April 16, 2021. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Ms. Garrigues was born on October 27, 1919, in Ordway, CO, and grew up in Sterling, Kansas. She attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, KS, and later earned her B.A. from Ottawa University in Ottawa, KS. After graduation, Ms. Garrigues moved to Kansas City, MO. She worked for physicians in the Kansas City area for 37 years and retired from Kansas City Internal Medicine in 1987. She was an active member of Prairie Baptist Church, Prairie Village, KS.

Ms. Garrigues was blessed with many dear friends, a love of travel, books and knitting. She leaves behind her niece, Shannon (Michael) Spangler and great-nephews Nathaniel (Madison) Spangler and Tyler (Brynna) Spangler; and nephew Tracy (Diana) Reynolds and great-nieces Alina and Briana Reynolds.
