STERLING – Paul Alan Fisher, 64, died April 11, 2015, at Rice County District Hospital, Lyons. He was born July 3, 1950, in Guymon, Okla., the son of Joseph Ray and Ramona (Aldrich) Fisher. He graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1968. He later attended Sterling College and Hutchinson Junior College. A lifelong Sterling resident, he was a self-employed carpenter.
On July 1, 1972, he married Cynthia J. Childs in Sterling. Survivors include: son, Michael Fisher and wife, Christine of Independence, Mo; daughter, Megan Wilson and husband Shannon, of McPherson; brother, Carl Fisher and wife, Vicki of Overland Park; sister, Mona Ball of Sterling; five grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Alix, and Tylee Wilson and Josephine Fisher; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Marleta Childs; and brother-in-law, Bill Ball
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at United Methodist Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Marvin Ewertt and Pastor George Bocox presiding. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, with family present 5 to 7 p.m. at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church of Sterling or Sterling Recreation Commission or Gran’s All-Stars, in care of the funeral home.
