Richard was a loving father and husband, and was also a member of Mensa. He had lived in the panhandle for 12 years since coming from Boyton Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents: Elvin and Evelyn Engelland; daughter: Loreen Engelland; brother: Robert L. Engelland; sister; Janeth D. Engelland. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Noreen Carol Engelland of Chipley, Florida; son: Gregory D. Engelland of Chipley, Florida; three brothers: John A. Engelland of Sterling, Kansas, James D. Engelland of Fort Worth, Texas, Rodney A. Engelland of Shawnee, Kansas; sister: Betty L. Seely of Newton, Kansas; nephew: Rick Marco and wife Katie of Chipley, Florida; god daughters: Allison Marco Hayes and husband Josh of Chipley, Florida, Mary Kate Marco Brininger and husband Phillip of Chipley, Florida.
