STERLING – Betty A. Elrod, 82, died Dec. 31, 2013, at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson. She was born May 11, 1931, in Jane Lew, W. Va., the daughter of Hayward and Marjorie Lodge Westfall. A resident of Sterling since 1990, formerly of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., she was a retired cook for Sterling Presbyterian Manor.She was a member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Sterling.On April 3, 1978, she married Warner Elrod at Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. He died Dec. 26, 1986. Survivors include: two sons, Glenn Rogge and wife Marla, Sterling, and Bradley Rogge and wife Marilyn, Riverton; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jennifer Albrecht; brother, Donald Westfall; two grandsons, David Albrecht and Steven Rogge; and a nephew, Robert Westfall.Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. Dale Jordon presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling. Memorials may be made to Sterling Presbyterian Manor, in care of the funeral home.
