Kate B McVay was born March 24,  1875, in Shelby Co., Ohio, her father, George William, was 40 and her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Shaw, was 34. She had two brothers, William H. McVay and Thomas Stanton McVay.

Kate married Charles A. Day of St. Louis, January 21, 1893.  She died in Sterling, KS while visiting her brother in Sterling, KS where she had hope that a change would benefit her health.  She is survived by her husband, her mother and her brother.
