Ellen Mae Crockett, Topeka, formerly of Alden, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, at Aldersgate Village, Topeka, at the age of 95.
She was born March 28, 1902, in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Henry David and Minnie Grace Boulware Marker. She graduated from Omaha Business College and attended Hesston College and Kansas State University. She had also lived in Venezuela, South America, for 10 years and Sedan before moving to Topeka.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Topeka, and was a 50-year life member of the Order of Eastern Star.
On Dec. 26, 1923, she married Amos W. Crockett at St. Joseph, Mo. He died March 24, 1979.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Jean Frederick, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Joyce E Weiler Forster, Topeka; and Jacquelyn P. Proffitt, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Weiler.
Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Sterling Community Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Matarow officiating.
