Obituary from the Hutchinson News, 9/26/1985, pg. 116:Gerald L. CoxSterling – Gerald L. Cox, 66, died Sept. 24, 1985, at Lyons District Hospital. Born April 21, 1919, in Reno County, he married Edith Green Oct. 20, 1946, at Lordsburg, N.M. She died May 30, 1953. He was a retired welder and city of Sterling employee and was a lifetime resident of Sterling.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion, Sterling.

Survivors: brothers, . . . [four]; sisters, . . . [three}.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Porter & Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling, the Rev. Arthur Gathman. Burial will be at Sterling Community Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
