ABBYVILLE _ O.L.`Nibs'Charter,79, died March 6, 1989, at Hutchinson Hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1909,in rural Sterling, he married Nola M. Willis April 9, 1939, at
Nickerson. Retired owner of Charter Oil, he was a lifetime resident of the Abbyville and Sterling area.       He was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Sterling.      
Survivors: wife, of the home; son, Walter L., Iron River, Mich.; daughters, Nona M. Lowrey, 1811 Tracy Lane, Twila D. Charter, Austin, Texas; sister, Hazel Sloan, Sterling; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.   Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Sterling Cemetery, Pastor Dave
R. Landis, with Independent Order of Odd Fellows graveside rites.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today, from9 a.m. to 9 p.m.Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Elliott Mortuary,Hutchinson. Memorials may go to the American Heart Association or to First Christian Church, Nickerson.
