Died, at his residence in Lyons, Kansas, at 5 o’clock a.m., Thursday, November 1st, 1888, Samuel Cameron, Probate Judge of Rice County,
Short funeral services at the house, Friday, November 2nd, at 10 o’clock a.m., after which the body will be taken to the M.E. church at Sterling, in charge of Lyons Lodge No. 152, I.O.O.F., where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., with Meade Post No. 14 G.A.R.
Samuel Cameron was born in 1837 in Columbiana County, Ohio, his father, James, was 26 and his mother, Sarah, was 26. He married Aletha Missouri Smith in Scotland, Clark County, Missouri on August 6, 1865. They had three children, Ella, Jocie B, and Lena, during their marriage, . He died in 1888 at the age of 50. They had been married for 23 years.
