Obituary
Nelle M. Calderwood, lifetime Sterling resident, died yesterday at the Sterling Presbyterian Manor at the age of 86.
Born November 7, 1897, in Sumner County, she married Robert Orr Calderwood on June 7, 1928, in Sterling. He died May 9, 1967.
Mrs. Calderwood was a graduate of Sterling College and a former Sterling High School teacher. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Get-Together Club and M.I.C., all of Sterling.
Survivors are three sons, Donald H., Murree, Pakistan, Robert L. and William J. of Sterling; two daughters, Lois Sieverling of Euless, Texas, and Frances Calderwood of Sterling; Three sisters; Agnes Lindsay of Sterling, Grace Handy of Hutchinson and Anna Means of Viola; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sterling United Presbyterian Church. The casket will not be present at the church. The Rev. Paul Bock will conduct the funeral, and burial will be in the Sterling Community Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Porter and Sillin Funeral Home in Sterling.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Sterling Presbyterian Manor or Sterling College.
