STERLING – Mrs. Nellie (Holderread) Buel, 94, died Thursday (January 23, 1975) at Sterling Community Hospital.  Born March 1, 1880 at Hillsboro, Ill. to Henry Holderread and Mary Elizabeth Warren Holderread. She was a teacher in Litchfield, IL.  She married James R. Buel, April 10, 1901, at East St. Louis, Ill.  She and James moved to Sterling Kansas in 1910.  He died Feb 23, 1957.  She lived here 70 years.
She was a member of Sterling United Methodist Church.
Survivors are daughters; Mrs. Helen McMurphy and Mrs. Dorothy Neal, Sterling; sons; James and Dwight, Sterling; Don, Greeley, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Porter-Sillin Funeral Home; Rev. Edward Rowley.  Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery.  Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
