STERLING — Rebecca Lynn “Bec” Boyd, 36, died August 23, 2011 in rural Sterling as a result of an automobile accident. She was born March 31, 1975 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Charles and Barbara Scanlon Boyd. In 1993, she graduated from Sterling High School. A lifetime resident of Sterling, she was employed for 15 years as a warehouse employee at Dillons. Ms. Boyd was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Lyons, Teamsters Union Local 795, and American Legion Auxiliary, in Hutchinson. Survivors include her mother, Barbara, Sterling; a sister, Traci Miller and husband Steve, Great Bend; and nephews Aaron and Aiden Miller, Great Bend. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Boyd, and grandparents, James and Margaret Scanlon and Charles W. and Eunice Boyd. Graveside services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Sterling Community Cemetery with Pastor Michael Gray officiating. Burial will be at the Sterling Community Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed. Memorials are suggested to Bec’s Nephews Education Fund, or Park Elementary Booster Club in Great Bend, in care of the funeral home.
