Mrs. Sarah Hooten Bowen, 87, former resident here (Sterling, KS) died Wednesday at a Los Angeles hospital after a long illness. Born Aug. 6, 1877, at Moline, she had lived in Sterling from 1906 until 1952 when she moved to California. She married Frank Marion Bowen Sept. 6, 1926. He died in 1952. She had worked as telephone operator here. (Note from Monte Bowen, typist she held that job for 45 years)
