Frank Sandys Blades was born 07 April 1882 near Sterling, Kansas. He died 05 February 1925 in El Centro hospital, California, and buried in Sterling, Kansas Cemetery. He died from cerebral meningitis due to an abscessed mastoid.

Frank Sandys Blades served in the u.S. Navy for about six years, enlisting in May 1897, in New York City, on the Vermont.  In 1901 he was on the warship Glacier somewhere in the New South Wales waters, a part of New Zealand. After serving in the Navy he was a resident of California.

Survivors are two brothers William Cornelius and Andrew Jackson and two sisters Zella and Rose Mary.
