Benjamin Arthur Blades was born 07 September 1885 near Sterling, Kansas. He was a resident of Sterling all his life. He died May 1904 at his home in Sterling, Kansas. A sister preceded him in death. Survivors included his parents Frank Shelby and Idella Daniels Blades; three brothers Frank Sandys, William Cornelius and Andrew Jackson; two sisters Zella and Rose May.
Ben Blades, the 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. F.S. Blades died at the home of his parents last Thursday night. He has long been a sufferer from apoplexy, and a complication of grip and pneumonia for five weeks previous to his death was too much for his constitution. The family has the sympathy of many friends in this, their second bereavement within six months.
