T.C. Bonser

Thomas Calvin Bonser was born in Ross County, Ohio, November 3, 1846, and died at the home of his son-in-law, Willis H. Sankey, about 10 miles south of Sterling, January 26, 1903, aged 56 years, 1 month and 23 days.  He was among the old settlers of Kansas, coming from Illinois to Kansas in 1873.  He was well known in this community. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. Sankey Wednesday, January 28th, conducted by Rev. W .L. Hinshaw. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends. The G.A.R. marched thru town in honor of their comrade. The remains were laid to rest in Cottonwood cemetery.

Joseph Boner Dead

Joseph Boner, one of the older residents of Walnut township, died at his home Monday, August 5, at the age of 77 years, four months and 23 days.

Mr. Boner had not been feeling well for something like a year, but on Friday of last week, was taken sick, and on Monday succumbed to heart failure. Deceased had been a resident of Walnut township for 38 years and had a host of friends.

Besides the widow, Mr. Boner leaves behind 9 children, 6 daughters and three sons, as follows: Mrs. Jno. Canning, Huntsville; Mrs. Maggie Hall, Ingalls; Mrs. W.H. Cox, Hutchinson; Mrs. Thos. Stiggins and Mrs. Isaac Lavielle both of Sterling, Mrs. Katie Roberts of LaJunta, CO, Ed Boner, Dodge City; John Boner, of Ingalls, and Frank Boner, who lives at home.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at this place on Tuesday afternoon, In charge of Rev. A. E. Kirk, of the M.E.church. The services at the grave were under the auspices of the G.A.R. Internment was in Cottonwood Cemetery.
