2021 Memorial Stones for 5 Civil War Veterans buried in unmarked graves in Potter’s Field.

Co. H 2nd K.V.M.War: Civil War
Obituary from The BULLETIN, 09/06/1883
A sad accident occurred at the sugar works last Friday night, whereby a young man named Willis N. Clark met with injuries which resulted in his death on Monday Evening. He was passing by the 18-foot flywheel with a melon in his hands and probably stumbled. The spokes of the wheel caught him under the chin, throwing him over the wheel and to the east side of the building, a distance of 40 feet. His back struck a work bench and broke a board. His jaw was broken and lacerated in a frightful manner. He was conveyed to the Tremont House where he remained unconscious until his death. His brother was notified and came from the east. Clark was a popular member of Company H, and was buried on Tuesday with military honors.
Private Clark was a good soldier, ever prompt in duty, ever ready to assist a comrade.
No relatives here. Believed to be from Ohio.
