Bert E. ‘Red’ Davis, 81, died June 14, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1919, at Brushyknobb, Mo., the son of B.E. and Mabel Ross Davis. A former Hutchinson resident, moving to Sterling in 1968, he was a retired car salesman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.He was a member of First Christian Church, Lyons. He married Evelyn Davis at Wichita on Jan. 26, 1945. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Margaret ‘Maggie’ Frager, Hutchinson, and Georgia Henry, Sterling, two brothers, C. Roy, Wichita, and Ronald, Wichita; a sister, Anadayle Cooper, Portland, Ore.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Sterling, with the Revs. James Graves and Tom Eastman presiding. Friens may call 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling.
