Robert Young, who was stricken with paralysis last summer, and was supposed to be getting better, died Sunday morning at ten o’clock. He was buried this morning at ten o’clock from the Methodist church, under the auspices of Meade Post No. 14 G.A.R.

Sterling – Mildred E. Wilkey, 87, died June 3, 2005, at Lyons District Hospital. She was born Dec. 16, 1917, at Sterling, the daughter of Charles and Emma Clark Vogel. She graduated from Sterling High School. A lifetime Sterling resident, she was a homemaker and retired dietitian for Sterling Presbyterian Manor. She belonged to Sterling Reformed Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher; was Girl Scout leader; and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society and The Club, all at Sterling.
