Sterling – Doris M. Tener, 80, died Oct. 24, 2003, at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson.
She was born July 9, 1923, at Plevna, the daughter of F. M. and Estella Canning Mahoney. She was a graduate of Alden High School, Alden. A resident of Sterling since 1943, she was a bookkeeper for the former Tener Gas & Electric Co., Sterling, and was the former director of Silver Threads, Sterling.
She belonged to the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Sterling, and was a former Girl Scout leader for 20 years with the Wheat Belt Council.
On May 10, 1942, she married Max E. Tener at Chase. He died Feb. 2, 1983.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jay, Logan and Marvin Mahoney; and a sister, Golda Proffitt.
