Asenath Rebecca Hinshaw was born on February 9, 1878, in Kansas, her father was William and her mother, Ruth. She is the daughter of a United Brethren preacher. She attended school at Lane University. She married Casper Archie Stone on April 8, 1902, in Kansas.   They had five children in 12 years. She died on August 19, 1966, in Sterling, Kansas, at the age of 88.
