Floyd Carroll ‘Skip’ Porter was born on April 6, 1883, in Little River, Kansas, the child of James Wylie, and Jane H. He married Martha Susan Grace Smisor on September 4, 1907, in Sterling, Kansas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on June 17, 1960, in Sterling, Kansas, at the age of 77, and was buried there.
