James ‘Crazy’ Leroy Striplin, 61, died February 24, 2015 at his home, Newton. He was born May 26, 1953 in Hutchinson, the son of William and Fern Rose Striplin. He was a Hutchinson resident most of life, living in Newton most recently.

Survivors include a son, James Striplin, Jr., Newton, 2 brothers, Sanford Striplin, Partridge, and William Spratt, Rantoul, and a granddaughter, Chloe Striplin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edith Gould.

Cremation is planned. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Down’s Syndrome Foundation or Children’s Mercy, both in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson.
