Norva Jane “Janie” <I>Stiggins</I> Colle

 

“Janie” Colle, 71, died May 26, 2015, at her residence in Hutchinson. She was born April 2, 1944, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Norval Wightman and LaVerna “Beryl” Carson Stiggins.

 Residing in Hutchinson for the past 17 years, moving from rural Sterling, Janie was a devoted homemaker, a 1962 graduate of Sylvia High School and she received her AA from York College in Nebraska. Janie’s memberships included: Eastwood Church of Christ in Hutchinson, FCE member, Reno County Extension Office executive board member, member of the Idona Club, food judge for the Kansas State Fair and county fairs throughout Central Kansas, Reno County election clerk and she was an avid sports fan.

On Nov. 27, 1976, she married Anthony ‘Tony’ Ray Colle in Hutchinson. Survivors include: husband, Tony Colle of the home; two sons, Trey and Sarah Colle and Trent and Amber Colle, both of York, Neb.; two brothers, Larry Stiggins of Lubbock, Texas, Kent Stiggins of Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Mayah, Bryce and Javen Colle; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; uncle and aunt, Joy and Burtice Layman.

Graveside Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, at Sterling Community Cemetery. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum, Hutchinson, with Minister Jimie Wray Mead officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling. Memorials may be made to the Eastwood Church of Christ or Grandchildren’s Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home.
